did you ever see those parents with kids on leashes at conventions?
i always disliked it and thought it was wierd/lazy...granted i have never been a parent so maybe i dont know.
video reminded me how silly/messed up those leashes are.. .
I had a leash when I was a toddler.
I think they're great for when you're in the public and you don't want the kid to run about and getting in the way of others.
And it's for their own safety - I was with a relative when her daughter wandered out our sight at a crowded shopping mall. The panic that instantly rises up in you is horrible. Thankfully we found her daughter within a few minutes, but I wouldn't want to have to go through that again!
because i remember how freaked out some would get if something bad happend and "oh my, that is such a bad witness!
i hope that does not make the papers"...oh i heard that one a lot...same if a "bad witness" was seen on tv or your name is in the paper for a dwi, urinating in public, indecent exposure, (not my bio) but we/they always hated the masses seeing anything negative right?!?!?!?.

Normally I would also say that it's not cool to be bashing someone over their looks.
However, this man (and in effect, his wife), is one of the members of a small group of men who rule over a religion that has affected so many millions of lives to the detriment of those followers.
He is responsible for the pain, the sorrow, the ruined lives of so many JWs/exJWs yet he gets away with it, like those Nazis who ran off to South America escaping their punishment for their wrong-doings.
So if bashing him online, even attacking his looks, is probably the most those victims of the WTS can do, then I say do it. It's better than planning to blow up the HQ at Brooklyn or some other equally distructive means. There's little us victims can do to receive any compensation for the wrongs we suffered.
Stephen Lett choses to be one of the GB. He deserves to get what he does.
recently, i showed a great deal of vulnerability by posting that severe pain had popped out again and my morphine pump needs some tinkering.
it seems i am attacked with some frequency for posting here but other frequent posters are not.
rather than discuss the merits of a subject, some people engage in personal attack.
I stay away from all those positical threads because arguing over politics is fruitless IMO.

yes, this month is the presidential election in my country and im going to exercise my right of voting .......... what im not sure about is if i let mom know, she is still a jw and im basically fading so, i dont want to mess it up, but at the same time i feel that i shoul be free for once and all.
i dont live with her anymore but that would break her heart, and she has high blood pressure problems so, why to bother?

my wife and i joined probus earlier this year,and we received a medical record card to fill out ( optional ) usual personal information / contacts /medical problems / medications etc.

and under comments i have stated i am an organ donor,i reject jw blood doctrine.i accept all medical procedures including blood products.. i felt the need to do this since over the years ,when i was an active witness, i have needed some medical treatment,an operation whereby i made it quite plain i would not accept blood under any circumstances being a jw.
Most of the ppl that join Probus seem to be retirees, hence my comment Smiddy.
Just be thankful you've reached middle age (at least). Not every person that is born gets that opportunity.
